The Focus of the Annual General Meeting was “Advice in the Community”

A Fond Farewell to Esteemed Leaders

The highlight of the day was the heartfelt send-forth for our outgoing Chair, Sue Dix, and Treasurer, Sheila. Their dedication and service have been the guiding stars for our organization, and while they will be greatly missed, their legacy will continue to inspire us.

 

Communal Bonds Over Light Lunch

Conversations began over a light lunch, setting a tone of camaraderie and mutual respect. It was a time to renew bonds and build new ones, to share stories and laughter—a prelude to the profound discussions that would unfold.

Deep Dive into Community Needs with Kristina from GLA

Kristina from the Greater London Authority (GLA) provided us with a sobering yet inspiring overview of the demand for our services and the intricate challenges we face. Her insights brought to light the reality of our work and the impact of our services on the community.

Insights on Outreach from Nicola Redhead

Nicola, who runs the outreach service covering five community centers, presented her on-the-ground experiences. Her presentation offered a glimpse into the day-to-day realities of our outreach efforts and the tangible difference our work makes in the lives of those we serve.

A Moderated Discussion of Substance

Our erstwhile CEO, Susanne Rauprich, moderated the discussion with a deft touch, guiding us through a meaningful exchange of ideas. Contributions flowed from councillors and representatives of Havering Council, each adding valuable perspectives to the dialogue.
